How are Compliant Mechanisms different from the Classical Mechanisms?

Classical mechanisms used rigid linkages primarily to achieve the functionality. The present technologists and designers use “Classical Mechanics” as a first principle to build something for the user. Things built on this concept involves tonnes of calculations, time and also increases the number of parts.

Compliant mechanisms on the other hand creates its own concept that uses the inherent flexibility of the components to their advantage, to perform various tasks. This mechanism not only achieves output in a simple way but also helps one to explore optimum paths for  higher values.
